The Mike Hardy Saga, Part XI: Five Year Interlude

August 8th, 2010

(note: read parts I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X if you haven’t already)

I never actually thought I would be posting an additional part to this series. After Part X was published, I briefly collected information posted in the comment sections of all the Software Saga articles. Eventually I got tired of keeping track of it all and let it fall by the wayside, never planning to post a Part XI, as it would be.

Though it may seem that I had forgotten about this series of articles, I would like to make one thing very clear: I greatly appreciate the readers who have contributed information about this person’s activities. Without you, his actions would never have received widespread acknowledgement. Thank you.

Now, on to the purpose of this entry. A recent e-mail from one Michael Hardy spurred me to revisit this sad tale. Read the rest of this entry »

Hey, what’s this?

Sometimes I forget that I even have a blog. Here’s some more useless stuff that I’ve taken pictures of or recorded.

Light Midwest Earthquake

April 18th, 2008

About 10 minutes ago (approximately 5:35 EDT), I felt a light earthquake, which was preceded by an even weaker foreshock. I could feel the entire house move slightly, and heard some rumbling and creaking. One of my brothers called soon after, stating he felt the same thing. Based on this, I estimate it to be about 4.0 on the Richter magnitude scale.

EDIT: Associated Press brief
EDIT 2: USGS map

Remember, it just isn’t Christmas without some Christmas Rap. Four years and running.

The 8 Bits of Christmas (backup link) by The 8bitpeoples also gets my hearty recommendation.
